A favourite steak for grilling. Lovely marinated and perfect for a barbecue too.

When it comes to cuts of meat, our rump steak is a popular option. This portion of meat is a boneless piece of meat, which comes from the hindquarters of the cow, which covers the hip bone. Those who value flavour above tenderness tend to prefer the taste of our rump steak, which is why it is such a popular option.

At Somerset Farmhouse, all our cattle are raised naturally, as this affects the quality of meat. Our rump steak is perfect as a tender roast, or you can chop it against the grain for a smaller steak, or you can put the meat in a stir-fry after slicing it. The versatile nature of this cut means it can be roasted, braised, pan-fried, or stir-fried – the choice is yours.

We have a wide variety of weight options available for your cut of rump steak, including 227g, 284g, 340g and 545g. You can also select your preferred quantity. Whether you are grilling this steak to perfection or including it in another dish, we are sure you will enjoy the flavour of this cut.

We offer the finest quality meat, poultry and game, at Somerset Farmhouse. As a small, family-run business, we pride ourselves on our products' quality, taste, and high customer service level. With over 60 years of experience in the industry, you can be assured of the quality and expertise we bring to your table. Tip: Don't forget to rest your steaks!

Resting is essential to have a succulent, tender steak. It allows the meat to relax after cooking. During searing, grilling or frying, meat juices are drawn to the surface to combat the source of the heat. Relaxing gives the juices time to go back into the meat so that it is juicy and succulent all the way through.
